Glencoe Road over Hamilton Creek
Bridge Replacement | Wildwood, Missouri

Juneau Associates Inc, P.C. was contracted by the Missouri Department of Conservation to replace an existing single span structure, 35 feet long by 21 feet wide. Juneau’s tasks included preparing hydraulic and scour analyses, evaluating various bridge replacement options, and preparing the final construction documents and right-of-way plans.

The Glencoe Road Bridge Replacement was 100% funded and administered through the Missouri Department of Conservation.

The proposed bridge replacement option selected for this project was a single span structure, 73 feet long and 24 feet wide. The bridge accommodates two 12 foot wide traffic lanes and includes thrie beam type barriers. The roadway alignment was improved for approximately 350 feet surrounding the bridge to provide for a 25 MPH design speed. The bridge superstructure consists of adjacent box beams with a waterproofing membrane and an asphalt overlay. The substructure consists of integral end bents supported by steel end bearing piles.

The bridge’s superstructure is located such that it is above the 50-year design flood event plus a minimum of one foot of freeboard. The superstructure is also located above the 100-year flood event and produces less than one foot of backwater over the natural or no bridge condition.
