Route AD over Happy Sock Creek Bridge Replacement | Franklin County, Missouri

In 2019, Juneau Associates, Inc., P.C. submitted final plans to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) to replace the Route AD Bridge over Happy Sock Creek. The consulting team for this project consisted of Juneau Associates (Prime Consultant and Bridge Engineer) and EFK Moen (Roadway Engineer). The consulting team’s responsibilities for this project included developing bridge and roadway plans and specifications.

The original bridge was a three span structure approximately 132 feet in length with a roadway width of 20 feet. The replacement bridge is a three-span structure 193 feet in length and 30 feet 8 inches wide. The superstructure consists of four lines of MoDOT Type III PPC I-Girders supporting a composite reinforced concrete deck. The substructure consists of integral end bents supported on galvanized steel end bearing piles and concrete encased steel piles cap intermediate bents. The roadway improvements were designed using the latest AASHTO LRFD Specifications.

The bridge was completed and open to the public in November of 2020.
