The Edge Student Housing at SIUE | Edwardsville IL
The Edge Student Housing, a $20 million multi-family apartment development that opened the fall of 2015 provides 120 units of off-campus housing to accommodate 384 Southern Illinois University Edwardsville students. Occupying 10 acres of previously undeveloped land located southwest of the intersection of Center Grove Road and Illinois Route 157 in Edwardsville, Illinois, the development offers premium 2-bedroom and 4-bedroom apartments with private bedrooms and bathrooms.
Juneau Associates Inc., P.C. provided surveying and engineering services to prepare the preliminary site, grading and utility plans associated with the 6 apartment buildings, clubhouse, and amenities as necessary to secure City approval of the Planned Unit Development (PUD). Following City of Edwardsville’s approval of the PUD, Juneau Associates prepared construction plans for the project’s site development. In addition, once the student housing project was under construction, Juneau Associates provided construction phase services.
Under a separate contract with the City of Edwardsville, during construction of the Edge Student Housing project, Juneau Associates was hired to prepare bid documents to extend Century Drive, a street that was constructed to provide access to the new housing development. The street extension provided a connection to a neighboring street, improving the traffic circulation and safety for the development and the community.
