Grafton Water System Improvement
Since 1980, Juneau has served as City Engineer for the City of Grafton. The improvements included a 4-mile main extension to the Illinois American Water Company, a new booster station, replacement of old and failing mains in the downtown area, replacement of aged services and meters, and a new loop in the system to improve system pressure and fire flow.
Juneau reviewed and evaluated different alternatives for providing adequate water supply and then worked with the City to obtain funding from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. The four-mile long connection was made from the Principia College Campus in Elsah and extended to connect to the City’s existing water distribution system. The completion of this system improvement means the City now has a safe and reliable source of water.
Juneau provides other consulting services to the City, including plan review of proposed developments, drainage reviews and reports, sanitary system reviews and reports, and other consulting services requested by the City.
