Glen Carbon Water System Improvement

Juneau was hired by the Village of Glen Carbon for improvement to the village-wide water supply system. Now in the project design phase, Juneau made a hydraulic model of the water system, which indicated that pressure and storage improvements needed to be made to the system. The hydraulic model also helped Juneau illustrate to the Village that it needed to invest in a new water tower east of its 4-mile water main loop to accommodate future growth and existing subdivision development as well as increase pressure requirements in the commercial area along 157.

The project will consist of a new ½-million-gallon water storage tank and a new 12” water main. Improvements to two booster stations are also planned in addition to the installation of variable speed frequency drives (VFDs) and a new SCADA System with radio read communications.
