Sewer Rehabilitation
Juneau was contracted by Madison County Community Development (MCCD) for design engineering services for a sanitary sewer system including gravity sewers, two duplex pumping stations with 4-inch force mains, and upgrades to an existing pumping station to serve the Eagle Park area in Venice Township, Illinois. The project included a total of approximately 11,800 linear feet of 8” and 10” gravity sewer, two sanitary pumping stations, and approximately 2,150 linear feet of 4” force main. Juneau’s design engineering tasks included the preparation of construction plans, IEPA permit applications, and the preparation of bidding documents. Construction engineering tasks included shop drawing review and other services.
The project was funded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Plan review was provided by IEPA during the permitting application process.
The project was to provide a sanitary sewer system for an unsewered area in Venice Township. This project provided a gravity sewer system to allow the hook up of the individual sewer lines and the abandonment of the existing septic tanks. The service sewer construction was performed under a separate contract that was funded by Madison County Community Development.
The total construction cost of the gravity sewer system and pump stations was approximately $1,680,000.
